lost quickie

Well, last week's episode indicated a few things.

First, I'm a good guesser. I was right about Michael, and half right about Sun and Jin. Oh, and I had Widmore pegged as part of the freighter group - though it remains to be seen if there's Paik/Hanso involvement.

Second, the writers have no problem messing with us for its own sake. The Sun flashforward and Jin flashback was the most manipulative thing they've done that didn't serve as a game-changer important to the underlying story.

It's too bad that we have a break between the next episode and the rest of this season - but maybe I'll take the opportunity to write about something else for a change.

I'm hoping to get some information about a few things before the end of this season. I'll settle for any three - heck, maybe even two - of the following:

• "Adam and Eve"
• The giant four-toed foot
• The "temple," or at least the happenings of the other others
  
• Anything about the origin of Jacob or his magic cabin
  
• What happened to Claire and why Aaron now resides with Kate
  
• Who resides in the coffin from last season's finale

Questions

What happened to Jin? The date on his tombstone was September 22, 2004. That's the date that the plane crashed. I see a few possibilities. (1) Jin was killed in the attempt to leave the island or a related scuffle, and he is not included in the 8 survivors in the concocted cover story about Flight 815 that Jack recounted at Kate's trial. (2) Jin is alive, but still on the island for some reason.

Why does Widmore want the island? I guarantee that it's not for the reasons Ben says it is. What, so he can make it a theme park? So he can make a little cheddar? Money is a great motivator, but the island is much more important than that.

Where did Frank go when he ran an errand? That could be interesting.

What has Michael been up to? Fortunately, it looks like we'll find out this week.
